I’m all about simplified beauty routines. Anything that makes me feel “done” in less than five minutes is a winner in my book. Why? Because the less time I spend getting ready, the more time and energy I have to focus on actually getting out and having a good time with my family. This super easy crown braid is one of my favorite hairstyles for when I want to feel made up even when my hair is on the dirty side or when the weather is likely to make my hair frizzy. OR when I’m at the beach with my little ones and the wind is sending my hair in every which direction.
I enlisted the help of the husband to take photos of me doing this hair-do sans mirror I might add, to show you just how easy it is. All I used were two or three bobbi pins.
Part your hair down the middle. I prefer not to make a perfect part. Maybe because it’s easier. Or maybe it’s because I don’t want it to look perfect. I’m not really sure…
Braid each side. I will sometimes use a bobbi pin at the end of each braid to hold it before the next step.
Take one braid pull it tightly around your head to the other side. I like to place it where you would normally put a headband and keep my bangs out.
Wrap the other braid around and place it directly behind the first braid. Tuck the ends of the braids under each other to hide it. I use one bobbi pin on each side.
And that’s it! It only takes me a few minutes which gives me more time to spend with my boys over breakfast or more time out and about with them… Let me know if you give it a try or if you have any go-to hairstyles yourself!
