Now this is a makeup trend I can get on board with. And I really hope this isn’t just a trend but something all of us women, girls and all those in between embrace always. The less is more look. The kind of makeup that simply enhances and plays up what we already have as opposed to altering our appearances altogether. It’s such a sigh of relief, isn’t it? If you check out my pinterest you’ll see a trend. My ‘Face’ board is full of natural, fresh faced makup looks OR red lips and winged liner. Because I love both so much. Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite products I’ve come to love that makes me feel like I’m simply enhancing my look as opposed to changing it along with a few products I’m dying to try.
Vitamin C Serum
I never realized how much this was missing from my life! It wasn’t until I received a free sample at Sephora and then mustered up the courage to use it on my sensitive skin that I realized how amazing vitamin c serum is. It has helped shrink my pores better than any temporary effects of primers, helps with breakouts and I truly believe it has brightened my skin. I actually ran out two months ago and switched to a different vitamin c serum and my skin has gone downhill since. I’ll be making my return to the truth serum asap. Bonus – for me, it doubles as a pretty effective primer.
I have had a difficult time finding a foundation/bb cream/tinted moisturizer that I like. Since ingredients are very important to me, I decided to give this brand a try. Mineral fusion quickly became one of my favorite brands ever since I bought this. I don’t use it every day. At the most, I may put it on once a week. It’s super sheer but it stays on , evens my skin tone and leaves behind softer skin.
I recently just started using concealer. Mostly because all of the other ones I’ve tried over the years never did it for me. This one DOES IT for me. I use it with no foundation underneath and it blends in. I can’t believe how a little concealer under the eyes can brighten the entire face! I’m years behind on this one guys!
100% pure. You guys, I just love this brand so so much. I recently came across their products as I was on the hunt for a clean cream blush. Why cream? Because it lasts longer than powder blush ( I can personally attest to this), gives a slight sheen that’s very natural looking and because it’s fruit pigmented (?!) it’s not actually harming my skin.
Rms beauty is a brand I have yet to try but I really want to! This living illuminizer seams pretty amazing. I would dab it on the inner parts of my ear and on the cheekbones. This one is definitely on my wish list.
Glossier boy brow. Another brand that I have read amazing things about. I’ve added this boy brow to my cart like a million times but always back out as I hope for some amazing sale in the near future. What I love about this product is that it tames the brows but doesn’t make them look like they’ve been shellacked on. Does anyone remember the youtube halo brow?? No Bueno.
Eyeliner from Stowaway cosmetics. Clean ingredients, smart packaging. It’s easy to see why this eyeliner (and brand!) is so great.
Burts Bees… I have been using this chapstick ever since I first stumbled across it in my moms makeup bag when I was 13. It gives the lips a subtle plump and a bit of a rosy tint due to the beeswax/peppermint.
And that’s it! Easy to use products that won’t harm you over time. Now that’s a win win.
