Date nights are hard to come by around here so when we do get to get away, just the two of us, we have found ourselves overthinking it. Laying out the perfect outfits, trying to converse about specific “couple” topics, listening to the right songs (whatever that may be) on our way to our destination. Sometimes, trying to make everything so perfect backfires. It can take away from the real reason behind a date night with my spouse – to reconnect without worrying about feeding our little ones, cleaning the house… or breaking up fights between the two boys. I mean – they love each other but the bickering can be relentless at times!
On one of our recent outtings, we were too tired to dress up, we didn’t pick a restaurant out before hand and didn’t really have a plan except that we would end up at the coffee shop. Coffee shop dates have always been my favorite. You can dress super relaxed, you get a chance to really talk and the atmosphere is kinda the best.
This is almost exactly what I wore on our last coffee shop date and it was perfect. I had a pullover to throw on when I went inside and I don’t know about you but pullovers just put me in a cuddly mood. Which couldn’t be more perfect for a night out with my hubby. We sipped on tea, read some magazines and talked about our goals. It was refreshing and one of the most relaxing nights I’ve had in a really long time. So if you’re looking for a fun date night idea, you might want to give this a try. It may just become your favorite!
